Le Sonïce

On the occasion of the opening of the Meïso Paris Olympiades center, specialized in floatation and introspection, an unused 25 m² room was reinvested to design a new immersive wellness offering. The Sonïce project proposes a contrast therapy experience, combining sauna and ice bath in an alternating hot-cold sequence, designed to stimulate the body while soothing the mind.

Every centimeter of this constrained space has been rethought with precision: the layout design articulates the sequences of the journey: entrance, changing room, shower, sauna, ice bath, in a spatial fluidity that erases technique in favor of experience. The floor rises, the walls thicken, the circulations narrow to accommodate a 2,500-liter ice bath and its concealed filtration system.

The aesthetic serves the contrast: wood, deep tones and smooth surfaces envelop the body in the sauna; mineral stones, metallic glints and cold light sculpt the glacial cold of the bath. The whole composes a grammar of opposites, a language of matter in service of feeling.

Conceived, designed, built by the designer, Sonïce embodies an integrated approach to design, where object design meets interior architecture, where technique embraces emotion. The result is a dense and muffled place, both refuge and ordeal, which invites crossing the body to better access the mind.
